American Education Week Celebration Recognizes HEALS, Inc.!

Education_week“The week before Thanksgiving is the designated American Education Week. Many communities open their classrooms to parents, professional educators, substitute teachers, etc. during this week for firsthand observation and participation in the teaching/learning process.  Huntsville/Madison County’s local chapter of AEW takes advantage of the opportunity provided to honor our teachers as well as to enhance partnership among our local colleges and universities.” – Teachers Recognition Luncheon program

At the annual luncheon on November 14, Dr. Roy Malcolm and Oakwood University recognized HEALS and Executive Director, Connie Carnes, for “Education[al] Leadership.”  The clinics play a vital role within the schools in our area, and although HEALS staff members are not “teachers”, HEALS was nominated by a friend in the community for all the clinics do to support the education of children in the community.

This recognition was greatly appreciated, and it reflects the hard work and dedication of the hard working staff of HEALS.
